When I initially went to the store they took down my information and let me know he was on break and would return in 30 minutes to help me out. I did my shopping and returned to the store. Sunny seemed to know who I was and greeted me with a Hi. No smile, did not ask how I was. He then proceeded to tell me from his seated position that it had been over two years since my last prescription and if I did not have a new one he would not be placing an order for me. I want to make it clear that my issue is not the policy - I respect that they cannot use prescriptions older than two years and that I should be on top of getting my eyes examined regularly - with getting married and starting a family having children etc. Iife just got in the way and this is on me.\nMy review of this incident is based purely on Sunny’s treatment of me and his lacking customer service skills. Sunny made me feel like I wasn’t a valuable customer, he did not offer me any options or solutions, he did not try to work with me or even try to retain me as a customer. He showed 0 empathy or care. He made his ruling and dismissed me. I had no reason whatsoever to feel embarrassed but that’s how he made me feel, I felt like a scolded child. He could have recommended I call around to see if I can get in anywhere to get my eyes checked, offered to put me on a cancellation list etc. Anything to try to retain my business. This is a competitive market, with other businesses but also a booming online market where you can order contacts and glasses for a fraction of the cost in the comfort of your own home. I would expect that Pearle vision would be ensuring top notch customer service by staff and would not want to lose any customers. Having said that I am a paying customer and decided that Pearle Vision would no longer have my business. I took myself to Village Optical. They were able to fit me in last minute for an eye exam today and assisted me in purchasing contacts for the year as well as a new pair of\nglasses. They also provided exceptional customer service and made me feel like a valued customer. I highly recommend them and will be using them for my vision care needs going forward.
